IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUYERS WHO DON'T WANT TO GET SCAMMED!!!

This page is a little long, but if you will take the time to read through this, it will help you not to get scammed and provide you with important tools to make sure who you are dealing with is for real, and not somebody that is going to rip you off.

There are a number of good diploma companies out there, but sorry to say, there are also those sites that are going to take your money and supply nothing.

The best way to avoid being ripped off is simply to know what to look for in advance, and what sort of questions to ask.

Find out what form of payment the site accepts? If they have their own merchant account, and can accept credit cards, then not only has the bank done a background search, but Visa and MasterCard will also require detailed business documentation to make sure they don’t get stuck with numerous fraudulent charges.

If the site you are dealing with only accepts checks or Western Union, avoid them like the plague! Once the payments have cleared, there is no way to get your money back.

Does the site give you all of their contact information? As with any real company, you should be able to call them during normal business hours and speak with someone to answer your questions.

Some sites will give you a number, but all you get is an answering machine, and others will not give you a phone number at all, simply because they don’t want it traced.

If you really want to know if a company is legit, call them on a landline and not a cell or forwarding service. Look the company up in the yellow pages or online at http://yp.yahoo.com/ or http://www.yellow.com/ and call the number found in your search.

One thing you really want to consider is when you contact these companies is do they have live customer support and reply to you right away. This may not seem like that big of a deal, but it will give you a good idea if the company you are in contact with is a real company, and there everyday producing orders and responding to customers, or simply somebody that is working when they want to.

Make sure the company has a physical address. If you like a particular site, but something is making you a little uncomfortable, send a letter to them with a note asking them to call or email you. If they get your letter and contact you, this is a good thing. People that are trying to hide will not give you their real address.

Look for a company that is reputable and has been in service for more then a couple years. Keep in mind that it takes at least a couple years to build a site and have it promoted high enough in the search engines to be found, so even if the site has been around for two or three years, it doesn’t mean they necessarily have a good track record. 

Honest sites will make sure to follow the “Truth in Advertising Act”, but the sites that are there simply out to take your money, will say anything, so don’t believe everything you read on a site, do some research of your own. Remember if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The most importing thing in regards to your research is not to trust any so-called “review board”. Keep in mind that it cost $40,000 - $50,000 a year to built, host and promote a site among the search engines, and regardless of what these sites may tell you, they are not doing this just to “make sure no one else gets ripped off”. These “review boards” are always owned by another diploma site, and sometimes they have several sites. They are very sly in their wording but trust that whether they are trying to drive you to their site, or away from others, they are not paying this kind of money just from the goodness of their heart.

Needless to say, the most important thing is to do your research and make sure the company or individual you are dealing with is going to supply what you are looking for.
