A downloadable fake degree is a generic template you fill in and print yourself; a made-to-order replica is laid out from the school's own design, proofed, and printed or delivered as a PDF. The difference shows in the layout, the seal, the paper and whether anyone checks the document before it exists. The made-to-order route is the Perfect Match Diploma; this guide sets the two side by side.
A downloadable file is one layout for every school. You type in a name, a school and a date, print it on whatever paper is in the tray, and the result carries no school-specific wording, no matching fonts and a seal that is a flat graphic. It is quick, and for a joke certificate that may be all you want. It is not a replica of any particular diploma.
A made-to-order replica starts from the school's real layout: the maker holds thousands of college and university designs on file, pulls the one for the school you name, and matches exact wording, fonts, spacing, leading and kerning with your personal information embedded. The seal is color, gold-foil or embossed; signatures are printed with made-up in-house signatures or left blank for you to sign. Before anything is printed you receive a free digital proof, and changes at the proof stage are free.
"Downloadable" and "digital" are not the same thing. A made-to-order replica can also arrive as a file: choose digital delivery and you receive a PDF of the proofed layout. Choose a printed copy and it is produced on diploma-quality paper in 8.5×11, 11×14 or A4 and shipped by UPS, with the shipping options and a UPS quote shown in the cart before you pay.
Between the two sits the Standard In-House Template range: ready-made designs based on real diplomas, a little less individualized than the Perfect Match option, with some limitations in matching specific original diploma features, but with the same proof and print process and a more affordable price. The sample page shows each layout so you can pick one by eye.
Standard production is 3 business days; rush production, chosen on the order form, has the proof ready in 1 business day. The maker is closed at weekends, so a rush order placed on Friday is ready on Monday. A PDF arrives on approval; a printed copy ships after approval.
For a college or university replica: the school's full name, the complete degree title (for example, Bachelor of Arts), your name as it should appear, your major and your graduation date, with the honors line, size, seal finish and signature option chosen on the same form. For a high school replica: the school name, city and state, your name and your graduation date, printed exactly as you enter them. A downloadable template asks for a name and a date and leaves the rest to you.
A made-to-order maker also says what it will not do. Medical, aviation and maritime degrees are not made at all, a list of schools is excluded at their request, and there are countries — and one US state, Connecticut — that are not shipped to; the full list is on Things We Can't Do. A download site has no such page because nobody is checking the order.
If the document is a one-line joke that will be thrown away, a download does the job. If it is going on a wall, into a frame as a gift, onto a film set, or standing in while the school processes a replacement, the school-specific layout, the proof and the paper are the whole point — and that is the made-to-order replica. Either way, it is a novelty item: the maker is not affiliated with any institution and does not make documents intended for misrepresentation.
If the made-to-order route is the one you are leaning toward, bachelor's diploma templates vs Perfect Match replicas compares the two for a four-year degree, and what a college diploma looks like shows the seven elements a school-matched layout has to reproduce. For where either copy stands next to the original, see replica vs original diploma.
Yes. Choose digital delivery on the order form and the proofed layout is delivered as a PDF instead of a printed copy.
No. The maker already holds thousands of college and university templates; give the school name and the details to print.
No. Both are novelty items. A replica is for display, gifts and props; only the school can issue the real document.
